M&CO Legal is proud to have been prominently represented at Egypt Arbitration Day (EGYAD) 2025, which took place on 25 May at the St. Regis Cairo. Hosted by the Egyptian Center for Arbitration and Settlement of Non-Banking Financial Disputes (ECAS), this year’s event was held under the theme “Where Business Meets Solutions”, bringing together leading arbitration practitioners, scholars, and industry experts from across the region and beyond.
Our Founding Partner, Dr. Mahmood Hussain, served on the Organizing Committee of EGYAD 2025. Dr. Mahmood also had the privilege of co-moderating the session titled “Arbitration in the Real World: A Tool for Dispute Resolution and Growth”, alongside Dr. Marian Kaldas. The session explored the practical applications of arbitration in commercial contexts, its contribution to investor confidence, and its role in promoting sustainable and efficient dispute resolution frameworks across various industries. The panel featured distinguished speakers, including Luka Kristovic-Blazevic, Michelle Li, Daluk Almalena Sharmila Johan, Dr. Tarek F. Riad, and Dr. Amr Abbas.
Also, Mr. Tariq Khan, our Head of our International Arbitration practice, participated as a speaker in the session titled “Fintech and Arbitration: Resolving Disputes in a Rapidly Evolving Digital Ecosystem.” The session tackled the growing complexities within the fintech landscape and highlighted the evolving role of arbitration and mediation in resolving disputes arising from technological innovation and digital financial services. Mr. Khan was joined by a distinguished panel comprising Sherif Yehia, Michael Black KC, Rozana AlTayyar, and Sally Kotb FCIArb, with moderation by Marianne Azer and Adel Anwar, LL.M, CII Certified.
