How Indian Businesses Can Navigate Disputes in the UAE and Oman

M&CO Legal, in collaboration with ALC Lawyers & Counsels, recently hosted a special session on “How Indian Businesses Can Navigate Disputes in the UAE and Oman.” The program brought together in-house counsels, business leaders, and arbitration practitioners for an insightful exchange of ideas.

The session was joined by Justice Vipul Manubhai Pancholi, Judge of the Supreme Court of India, and Justice Tejas Karia, Judge of the High Court of Delhi, whose perspectives added significant depth to the discussions. The panel also featured Ms. Shukla Wassan, Independent Director at GCAI, as moderator, together with Tariq Khan, Head of International Arbitration at M&CO Legal, and Abdulredha Al Lawati, Founder of ALC Lawyers & Counsels.

Key topics explored included:

  • Procedural and legal aspects of arbitration in the UAE

  • Enforcement challenges before Indian courts

  • The approach of Omani courts to foreign arbitral awards

  • The importance of reciprocal enforcement agreements between India and the UAE

The discussion provided timely and practical insights for businesses navigating cross-border disputes, reinforcing the importance of collaboration between the legal and business communities.

We extend our thanks to ADGM and the General Counsels Association of India (GCAI) for their support in making this dialogue possible.
